A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Curious about how the world works—and how to explain it.

Portrait of Victoria Baeza Garcia

I’m a journalist and experiential artist interested in the intersections of business, technology and public policy—and in the people and decisions shaping our world.

My reporting and research have explored North Texas businesses and entrepreneurs, the technology industry, and the policies governing emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence. At The Washington Examiner, I covered federal technology policy and Capitol Hill. At The Dallas Morning News, I reported on business and the North Texas economy. I have also contributed to The Daily Campus, covering stories affecting the SMU community. As editor of The Tail End, SMU Student Media’s newsletter, I help guide story selection, editing, voice, design and production.

Alongside journalism, I explore interactive media, design, sound and immersive storytelling. I am completing degrees in Journalism with a Business Specialization and Creative Computing at Southern Methodist University.

Originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, I am bilingual in English and Spanish.
